The Beautiful King Room offered a decent amount of space, good natural light, and a well-placed electric heater to keep warm . The scenic views from the windows added a nice touch.
Finding the hotel proved to be a bit of a challenge, as TomTom led us astray, so make sure to scout your route in advance. The parking situation is limited to just four spots across a narrow lane. In the Beautiful Family Suite, the standard of the room was lacking-radiators flaking, cracks on the window ledge, and one of the windows jammed. The dinner menu was more upscale than expected, with fewer choices than one might prefer, leading to a less satisfying meal experience. There was loud music and late-night revelry due to the staff celebrating, which detracted from the evening's relaxation.

The dinner menu was a proper treat, chock full of tasty delights that had me drooling! The brekkie was no less, hearty and packed to set you off for a day on the Devon trails. The staff were always friendly.
Finding the place was a bit of a faff, and the parking situation had me sweating a bit. It'd be nice if they sorted out the admin mess near the bar during busy mornings.
